We’re thrilled to introduce you to our healthy, happy, hungry hippo who arrived a week early to spend Christmas with us.
Eliza Mika (美香) Esposito was born Dec. 16th, 2023 at 1:29am.
What's in a Name?
Eliza is named after Eliza Doolittle, Eliza Hamilton, and Shana Elizabeth Dowdeswell.
Laura's last role before getting pregnant was Queen Elizabeth in Richard III.
The name Mika honors Laura’s Mom’s name (Fumiko).
In Japanese, 美(mi) means beauty, and 香(ka) means nice aroma/essence.
美(mi) is used in Laura and her sister’s middle names (由美Yumi & 理美Satomi)
Mija means my beloved daughter in Spanish.
Esposito is of Italian/Sicilian origin. It can also be jokingly translated to mean “little husband” in Spanish.
